🏀 Basketball

It was a huge weekend for WVU basketball, with both the men's and women's programs landing key transfer portal commitments. The men added Troy forward Jackson Fields and high-scoring point guard Honor Huff, while the women signed Carter McCray from Wisconsin and Kierra Wheeler, a standout from an HBCU program. WVU also landed Loghan Johnson, flipping her from another Big 12 school WTRF, BlueGoldSports, WVSportsNow.

The men’s staff also continues to grow. Former UNT assistants Jase Herl and Phil Forte officially joined Ross Hodge in Morgantown, bringing Big 12 experience and continuity to the new staff WVSportsNow, Voice of Motown.

Meanwhile, WVU is reportedly in pursuit of the state’s top high school recruit, hoping to keep more talent in-state under the new regime WVSportsNow.


⚾ Baseball

The Mountaineers swept Houston this weekend, extending their win streak to 10 games. They secured victories of 9–8, 11–4, and 6–5 thanks to strong performances by pitchers Kartsonas and Sauve and key late-inning runs. WVU is now 30–4 on the season and continues climbing the national rankings.


🏈 Football

The Mountaineers picked up several key recruiting wins over the weekend, including commitments from 2026 3-star DB Taj Powell and a 2026 defensive back who had previously been recruited by the old staff. WVU also hosted Braydon Hawthorne on a visit and continues to work the recruiting trail hard under the new coaching staff.


🎾 Tennis

WVU Women’s Tennis ended their regular season on a high note with a win over Cincinnati, heading into postseason play with momentum.


🎽 Track & Field

WVU Track & Field athletes posted multiple personal bests at the Bison Outdoor Classic this weekend, closing out the meet with strong showings across several events.
